Step 1
Install Both APK Packages
To get full VoIP call recording functionality, download and install both packages from the Downloads section:
- 1. SquareCircle-Cube-ACR.apk — The core application and call library.
- 2. SquareCircle-Cube-ACR-Helper.apk — The system accessibility companion service.
Android Security Notice: When opening the APK file, Android may display "File might be harmful" or request permission to "Install unknown apps". Tap Settings and toggle on Allow from this source to proceed.
Step 2
Grant Main App Permissions
Launch Cube ACR from your home screen or app drawer. The initial setup wizard will prompt you for necessary device permissions:
- Microphone: Required to capture your voice during conversations.
- Phone & Call Logs: Identifies standard incoming/outgoing cellular telephone calls.
- Contacts: Pairs recordings with contact names from your address book.
- Notifications: Displays recording controls and ongoing recording status.
Step 3
Enable the Cube ACR App Connector (Helper Service)
This is the most critical step for VoIP (WhatsApp, Telegram, Slack) call recording. Without the Helper App Connector, Android will silence the remote caller's audio track.
- Open your device's Settings.
- Navigate to Accessibility.
- Look for Installed Services or Downloaded Apps.
- Find and select Cube ACR App Connector.
- Turn the toggle switch to ON and tap Allow when prompted.
Step 4
Disable Battery Optimization (Prevent Background Killing)
Android battery-saving managers frequently terminate background recording services. Make sure Cube ACR and Cube ACR Helper are excluded from battery optimization:
Samsung (One UI)
Settings → Apps → Cube ACR → Battery → select Unrestricted. Also disable "Put unused apps to sleep".
Xiaomi / Redmi / POCO
Settings → Apps → Manage Apps → Cube ACR → enable Autostart → Battery Saver: No restrictions.
OnePlus / OPPO / Realme
Settings → Apps → App Management → Cube ACR → Battery → Allow background activity & Auto-launch.
Google Pixel / Stock Android
Settings → Apps → Cube ACR → App battery usage → select Unrestricted.
Step 5
Test a WhatsApp VoIP Call
Place a test call via WhatsApp or have someone call you on WhatsApp:
- Once the call is connected, you should see the small floating Cube ACR recording widget appear on screen.
- Cube ACR will automatically initiate recording without needing any button click.
- When the call ends, open the Cube ACR app to verify that both sides of the conversation are clearly audible.
- If caller volume is too low, open Cube ACR → Settings → Recording → VoIP audio source and test different audio sources (e.g.
Voice Communication or Voice Recognition).
